Harris Campaign Staff Ties Her Back To Biden

On Thursday, Mitch Landrieu, co-chair of the Harris-Walz campaign, praised Vice President Kamala Harris for her contributions to the Biden-Harris administration, asserting that she “helped him (President Joe Biden) do all the things that were done during her time.”

Landrieu made these comments during an appearance on CNN’s “Inside Politics” with host Dana Bash.

“If you look at the voters who aren’t sure who to vote for, and if the crisis of affordability, I call it, is their top concern, what they know about Donald Trump is that they could afford more when he was president up until the pandemic. And they don’t know what she will bring,” Bash stated.

In his response to Bash, Landrieu ignored the fact that the economy under Trump was thriving until the COVID pandemic.

“Well, first of all, that’s what they think, but of course that is not accurate. The economy when Donald Trump was president was terrible,” Landrieu claimed. “I think Joe Biden is going to go down in history as being one of the most consequential presidents in the history of America,” Landrieu trumpeted. “And she was his vice president and she helped him do all the things that were done in the Biden time that she was there, and I think that she’s proud of that. But nobody should be unclear of the fact that she is her own person. For people who didn’t like Joe Biden, one of the reasons they didn’t like him was not because of his policies. One of the reasons was they thought that he was too old and they said that over and over again.”

Landrieu claimed that voters see the choice as between Donald Trump, who wants to go backward, and Kamala Harris, who will move forward, though he did not clarify what “going forward” would entail.

During her debate with former President Trump, Harris was asked if she bore any responsibility for the problematic withdrawal from Afghanistan under President Biden. She did not address the question directly, instead stating, “I agreed with President Biden’s decision to pull out of Afghanistan,” and then proceeded to attack Trump.
