J.D. Vance Criticized for Remarks Made in 2021

Vance SLAMMED for “Childless” Comment

Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH), the new running mate of former President Donald Trump, came under fire from the presenters of ABC’s The View after he criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for being “childless” in a video footage that had surfaced in 2021.

In July 2021, Vance declared, in an attempt to win the Senate, that “we are effectively run in this country via the Democrats, via our corporate oligarchs, by a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives.” Vance had previously hosted Tucker Carlson on Fox News.

“They want to make the rest of the country miserable too. It’s a basic fact. Look at Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, AOC. The entire future of the Democrats is controlled by people without children,” he added. “And how does it make any sense that we’ve turned our country over to people who don’t really have a direct stake in it?”

Co-host Whoopi Goldberg paused for dramatic effect before saying, “Sir, there are people who have chosen not to have children for whatever reason. There are people who want to have children who cannot – how dare you!?”

“You never had a baby. Your wife had a baby. But you never had a baby. So, you know nothing about this. And how dare you?! And women, you heard how he thinks of you,” Goldberg declared.

“This is not good for you, J.D.,” she added while looking at the television camera as if speaking to Vance directly.

“It’s so mean against cats,” co-host Joy Behar quipped.

Sara Haines, Vance’s co-host, denied that her children had any influence on her political beliefs.

“The part that really disgusts me is that he thinks by the fact you have children that’s how you look through the lens of politics,” Haines said. “I have children, and I can assure you that is not my first thought when I think about politics. My kids are obviously going to be affected by that, but anyone with a heart will look at the moral clarity of the decisions we’re making.”

Haines continued by defending abortion and expressing her worries about poverty and the environment. “My kids have something to eat,” she said. “I’ve had something to eat every meal of my life. Sometimes too much to eat, but my point here is it’s not my kids I’m worried about. It’s every kid, every person, and every human that doesn’t, so if you have a heart in your chest and are only looking through the lens of your own family, you are part of the problem.”
