During Tuesday’s “Morning Joe” broadcast, MSNBC contributor Donny Deutsch expressed his belief that Donald Trump has successfully captured America’s emotional core.

The conversation began with Joe Scarborough highlighting Democrats’ private discussions about the narrow margins of victory, noting the slim Republican majorities in both chambers of Congress.

“I just want to add one thing to that, we can say that to ourselves, he has co-opted America’s heartbeat,” Deutsch interjected.

Co-host Mika Brzezinski challenged this assertion, questioning whether America’s heartbeat aligned with Trump’s recent actions involving hostage families. When Deutsch attempted to elaborate, Brzezinski referenced January 6th.

Deutsch persisted with his point, explaining, “People will absorb it because he gives them what they want in other places. This is just, I want the Democrats to learn that you can even get away with things as ridiculous as that if you’re feeding people what they want to hear and what they need.”

After Brzezinski’s brief agreement, Scarborough expanded on the discussion, comparing Trump’s tactics to ancient Roman entertainment strategies. He emphasized how Trump openly declares his intentions while continuing to challenge established norms.

The exchange concluded with Deutsch clarifying that his intention wasn’t to suggest ignoring these actions, but rather to highlight their significance, as Scarborough emphasized Trump’s consistent pattern of promising to break conventional norms.
