Oprah Makes Prediction On Implication Of Harris’ Victory

Billionaire Oprah Winfrey told CBS that “women all over the world will be weeping in the streets” if Democratic nominee Kamala Harris wins the 2024 presidential election.

Winfrey made these comments during her appearance at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) on Thursday. She also emphasized the importance of abortion rights as essential to achieving the “American dream” and argued that Democrats are the true supporters of freedom, in contrast to Republicans.

“It will mean that the glass ceiling has been shattered,” Winfrey said of a potential Harris victory. “Women all over the world will be weeping in the streets. It will mean that actually anything is possible because this is her mother, her father, two immigrants coming to the United States … only in America could Kamala Harris’ story be possible,” Winfrey told “CBS Mornings” co-host Tony Dokoupil. “And I’m here, because only in America.”

The famous talk show host advocated for abortion rights, adding that women need the right to control their bodies.

“A lot of things are on the line, a lot of things are at stake,” she said. “I don’t need the right to abortion, but I believe that the right to control your body and be able to control what happens to you, particularly as a ‘woman person,’ in this country, it’s essential, it’s fundamental,” Winfrey said.

She also pushed abortion rights during her speech at the DNC.

“If you do not have autonomy over this — ” she said, “if you cannot control when and how you choose to bring your children into this world, and how they are raised and supported, there is no American Dream. The women and men who are battling to keep us from going back to a time of desperation and shame and stone-cold fear, they are the new freedom fighters,” the former talk show host added. “And make no mistake: They are the best of America.”

Winfrey told CBS that she agreed to give a speech at the DNC because she believes that decency and respect are at stake in this election, and that was why she was willing to speak at the event.
