Following Trump’s victory in the presidential election, the biographical film “Reagan” has experienced a remarkable surge in home entertainment sales, climbing to the second position on Amazon’s Best Sellers list for DVD, Blu-ray, and digital downloads, after holding the top spot over the weekend.

The film’s success draws parallels between two Republican figures, with the creative team highlighting similarities between Trump’s campaign and Reagan’s journey from Hollywood actor to two-term president. Reagan’s iconic nickname “the Gipper” originated from his portrayal of George Gipp in the 1940 film “Knute Rockne, All American.”

“First and foremost, Reagan believed in America and Americans. I believe Trump feels the same. Reagan was, and Trump is, willing to fight for what they believed was right,” “Reagan” screenwriter Howard Klausner told The Post.

The biographical drama, featuring Dennis Quaid as Reagan and Penelope Ann Miller as Nancy Reagan, faced distribution challenges in predominantly Democratic areas and encountered promotional restrictions on Meta’s platforms, which were later acknowledged as errors.

Robert Davi, who portrayed Soviet Premier Leonid Brezhnev and supports Trump, shared his perspective: “The film showed how Reagan was demonized just as Trump was.” He added, “They were both red, white and blue. The difference is in literary style. Trump is like Hemingway and James Joyce, direct and stream of consciousness, Reagan had a more restrained, poetic style.”

Despite these obstacles, the film achieved $30 million in box office earnings, outperforming other presidential biopics. According to Davi, audiences have been overwhelmingly positive, with many describing it as “the best film they’ve ever seen.”

“New York and California are 98% propaganda wings for the Democratic party and they don’t want anything that hurts their agenda. As we saw with the election and with Elon Music taking over X, [Americans] realize the absolute vacant and subversiveness of the media industrial complex,” the conservative actor stated.
