In a stern warning posted on TruthSocial Thursday night, former President Donald Trump issued threats of lengthy prison sentences to individuals involved in Tesla sabotage incidents, which have seen numerous electric vehicles set ablaze in apparent opposition to CEO Elon Musk.
Trump emphasized the severity of consequences, stating “People that get caught sabotaging Teslas will stand a very good chance of going to jail for up to twenty years, and that includes the funders,” followed by an emphatic “WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU!!!”
The former president’s warning followed Attorney General Pam Bondi’s announcement of charges against three individuals accused of destroying Tesla vehicles and charging stations across multiple states. The suspects, identified as Adam Matthew Lansky, Lucy Grace Nelson, and Daniel Clarke-Pounder, now face potential 20-year prison sentences for their alleged actions in Oregon, Colorado, and South Carolina respectively.

The incidents varied in severity. In Salem, Oregon, Lansky allegedly attacked a Tesla dealership with Molotov cocktails and later returned with a suppressed AR-15 to fire at the vehicles. Nelson reportedly vandalized cars with “Nazi cars” graffiti before launching Molotov cocktails at vehicles in Loveland, Colorado. She was subsequently released on a $100,000 bond. In Charleston, South Carolina, Clarke-Pounder allegedly defaced Teslas with anti-Trump messages before setting them ablaze.
Additional incidents have occurred in Las Vegas, where surveillance footage captured by the Las Vegas Review-Journal showed Tesla vehicles being set on fire, with one resulting in a dramatic explosion of its lithium battery. The perpetrator reportedly painted “RESIST” in large red letters at the Tesla Collision Center near the Vegas Strip.

During an appearance on Sean Hannity’s show, Musk expressed his disbelief at the attacks, saying, “It really comes as quite a shock to me that there was this level of, really, hatred and violence from the left. I always thought the left, the Democrats, were supposed to be the party of empathy, the party of caring and yet they’re burning down cars, they’re firebombing dealerships, they’re firing bullets into dealerships, they’re just, you know, smashing up Teslas.”
The Tesla CEO described these actions as “deranged” while defending his own conduct as “productive.”
Trump, who recently displayed a red Tesla outside the White House, reinforced his commitment to addressing these attacks, declaring “I’m going to stop them. We’re going to catch them, they’re bad guys.”
