Brexit leader Nigel Farage has announced his attendance at President-elect Donald Trump’s upcoming inauguration, while also expressing his intention to reconcile with Tesla CEO Elon Musk during his visit to the United States.
The Reform party leader, who has been Trump’s most enduring international ally, confirmed on Tuesday that he will spend approximately “four or five days” in Washington D.C., with the inauguration scheduled for January 20th.
During his LBC radio appearance, Farage addressed his recent disagreement with X platform owner Elon Musk, emphasizing that it wouldn’t impact his decade-long friendship with the incoming president.

“I’ve been a friend of Donald Trump’s for a decade, I’ve been very supportive of him, he’s been very supportive of me,” Farage said. “I can’t see that changing for a moment.”
The tension between Farage and Musk emerged following their meeting at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida last month, where discussions of a substantial donation to Reform took place. The relationship soured when Musk unexpectedly called for new party leadership after Farage maintained his stance against admitting imprisoned English activist Tommy Robinson into the party. This position aligns with Farage’s long-standing strategy of excluding street protest group members to legitimize right-wing politics and sovereigntism within the British electoral system.
Musk, who has publicly endorsed Robinson’s efforts to expose the abuse of young white British girls by Muslim Pakistani child rape gangs, took issue with Farage’s position.
Taking a diplomatic approach, Farage stated: “I have no desire to go to war with Elon Musk. I’m not going to, and I haven’t done. I’m a huge admirer of him, I think he’s a heroic figure.”
He continued: “I think the sort of tech changes that he’s bringing to the world are incredible I think buying Twitter actually has bought a lot of free speech back even if some people don’t like what’s being said, well you know what, tough.”

Farage also noted the fluctuating nature of their relationship, saying: “despite what Elon said when he woke up the other morning, you know, that I was no good or whatever — he’s not alone with that opinion, clearly — And then yesterday, he retweeted me twice with positive messages, so I don’t know.”
The weekend’s events saw Reform party members unanimously supporting their leader, potentially strengthening Farage’s position by demonstrating his willingness to prioritize principles over financial gain and stand firm against influential figures.
Meanwhile, Reform continues its ascent in British politics. Since Farage’s return to leadership, the party has reportedly exceeded the Conservative Party’s paid membership numbers and even surpassed the ruling Labour Party in a national poll, as public confidence in Sir Keir Starmer’s left-wing government deteriorates.
