Meta has unveiled a series of significant policy changes, including the discontinuation of providing menstrual products in men’s restrooms, marking a substantial shift in the company’s internal operations and external policies in response to the recent election.

According to Fox Business, the tech giant, which oversees Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, is implementing sweeping modifications under Mark Zuckerberg’s leadership, appearing to realign with the incoming Trump administration’s priorities.

A notable change includes the removal of feminine hygiene products from men’s facilities across Meta’s locations in Silicon Valley, Texas, and New York. These products had previously been available for transgender and nonbinary individuals who utilize men’s restrooms but require menstrual supplies. The New York Times noted that this decision prompted at least one employee’s resignation, while others began exploring alternative employment opportunities.

The company has also discontinued its progressive content moderation system and eased restrictions on user expression across its social media platforms. Zuckerberg acknowledged that previous content monitoring practices were excessive and expressed commitment to enhancing free speech on Meta’s platforms. This adjustment appears to reflect the shifting political environment and an attempt to harmonize with the Trump administration’s free speech positions.

Additionally, Meta has discontinued its primary diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Speaking to Fox News Digital, Meta’s chief global affairs officer, Joel Kaplan, explained that this strategic shift aims to prioritize talent acquisition without consideration of protected characteristics such as race or gender, focusing instead on recruiting from diverse candidate pools based on individual merit.

These organizational changes mirror similar adjustments being made by other major corporations in response to the recent election outcomes. The restructuring has generated varied responses within the company, with some staff members expressing opposition while others view it as a necessary adaptation to the evolving political landscape.
