Rep. Demands Tlaib’s Security Clearance Revoked Over Alleged Hamas Sympathies

In the wake of a tragic terror attack in Israel that claimed the lives of 1,400 Israelis, Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) finds herself in hot water as calls grow to bar her from receiving future classified briefings on military operations in Israel.

Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX) has taken a strong stance on the issue, demanding that Tlaib be prevented from participating in any classified briefing concerning Israel’s ongoing military operations, self-defense efforts, or American military movements in the region. Jackson argues that Tlaib’s recent actions have raised concerns about her allegiance and trustworthiness.

“While there has been broad bipartisan support for Israel’s right to self-defense, we must not allow Hamas sympathizers in this body to serve as the mouthpiece for Palestinian terrorists,” Jackson stated firmly in a letter to House leadership. 

“Rather than condemn the attacks by Hamas, Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib has chosen to side with Hamas by spreading misinformation. It has become clear that Congresswoman Tlaib’s allegiance lies with Hamas, therefore she cannot be trusted with sensitive information. Her participation in classified discussions around Israel’s self-defense would threaten the integrity of the operation and put American and Israeli lives at risk,” he added.

Jackson cited several reasons for his concerns. Firstly, Tlaib’s refusal to condemn the horrific beheadings of Israeli babies has raised eyebrows. Additionally, her repeated promotion of a debunked false narrative that Israel bombed a hospital is a cause for alarm. Lastly, Tlaib’s extensive history of anti-Semitic remarks has not gone unnoticed.

“Congresswoman Tlaib has made her stance clear that she would rather support Hamas and other Iranian terrorist proxy organizations than support the self-defense of Israel and American interests in the Middle East,” Jackson concluded. 

“Her words and actions have made it clear that she is unable to be trusted with sensitive information, thus she should be barred from receiving classified updates on the ongoing situation in Israel. I demand that her security clearance be revoked immediately and that she be prevented from participating in any relevant briefings.”

Tlaib, however, seems undeterred, as she refuses to walk back her claims regarding the hospital explosion, despite findings by top intelligence agencies worldwide that it was caused by a rocket misfired by Gaza-based terrorists. Instead, she has continued to stand behind Hamas, even leading a rally last week to condemn Israel’s retaliation after Hamas’ brutal Oct. 7 attack.
