Former Representative Liz Cheney, a Republican from Wyoming, made a surprising statement on ABC’s “The View” when she expressed her pride in voting for Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential race.

Cheney emphasized the critical nature of the upcoming election, stating that there is only one responsible adult in the race. She urged conservatives to recognize the gravity of the situation, discouraging them from writing in alternative candidates. Cheney stressed the importance of defeating Donald Trump, stating that voters don’t have the luxury of considering other options.

The former congresswoman revealed her personal decision, saying, “I can’t tell you how proud I was to fill in that, you know, circle next to Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.”

Cheney went on to criticize Trump’s policies, particularly his proposed tariff structure, which she believes will increase taxes, inflation, and national debt. She argued that Trump’s actions and policies do not align with conservative values.

Explaining her decision to support Harris, Cheney cited two main factors. First, she reiterated the necessity of defeating Trump, emphasizing that this is not an academic exercise. Second, she shared her personal experience of getting to know Vice President Harris, praising her sincerity and commitment to serving all Americans.

Cheney’s endorsement of a Democratic candidate marks a significant departure from her previous political stance and highlights the complex dynamics within the Republican Party as it grapples with Trump’s ongoing influence.
