R&B singer Mark Morrison found himself in legal trouble after allegedly pushing a restaurant manager during a heated dispute in Palm Beach, Florida.
The incident occurred Saturday at Le Bar à Vin when Morrison reportedly entered the establishment and confronted the manager about events from the previous evening, according to police documents obtained by TMZ.
Police reports indicate that Morrison, 50, became confrontational with the venue’s general manager regarding an event he had begun organizing with the establishment on Friday. The situation quickly escalated as Morrison allegedly began shouting and using profanity.
During the confrontation, witnesses reported seeing the “Return of the Mack” singer push the manager, who remained non-confrontational. A bystander intervened to separate the two individuals before the situation could worsen, after which Morrison departed the venue.
Law enforcement subsequently arrested Morrison, charging him with simple battery. TMZ obtained images showing the singer, dressed in black shirt, tan shorts, and yellow footwear, being handcuffed by officers before spending the night in custody.
Morrison secured his release Sunday morning after posting a $1,000 bond.

Fabrizio Riillo, the establishment’s nightlife manager, shared with the Palm Beach Daily News that Morrison had brought another performer to the venue Friday for a planned event. According to Riillo, Morrison repeatedly requested volume increases, prompting general manager Nicola Lavacca to intervene when the music became excessively loud.
“Mark Morrison came back on Saturday night looking for a fight,” Riillo told the outlet.
Morrison’s legal representative, Rick King, informed TMZ that “It is important to acknowledge that this altercation between Mr. Morrison and the male employee of the Le Bar à Vin, Nicola Lavacca, arose in the context of a racially charged confrontation.”
“At this time, Mr. Morrison and legal counsel are working diligently to ensure that the facts of the case are fully understood and appropriately addressed.”
King expressed confidence in his client’s eventual exoneration following a thorough investigation and urged the public to withhold judgment until all facts are presented.
Morrison’s court appearance is scheduled for April 15 at the Palm Beach County Courthouse.

The singer, best known for hits like “Crazy,” “Let’s Get Down,” and “Return of the Mack,” has achieved significant success. His signature track “Return of the Mack” recently placed 318th on Billboard’s 500 Best Pop Songs of All Time and reached 500 million Spotify streams in January.
Born in Germany and raised in Leicester, England, Morrison relocated to West Palm Beach at age 11. His career has been marked by several legal incidents.
In 1997, he served three months in jail for attempting to bring a firearm onto an aircraft. That same year, “Return of the Mack” peaked at number two on the US Billboard Hot 100.
The following year, Morrison faced charges in Barbados for weapon possession but was later cleared after being arrested upon returning to the UK.
Later in 1998, he received a one-year prison sentence for hiring a lookalike to complete his court-mandated community service, stemming from his involvement in a violent altercation that resulted in one fatality, as reported by The Independent.
