Six Shot In Restaurant Gunfire, One Dead

Six people got shot in a gunfire after a fight in an Indianapolis Waffle House on Monday. The incident happened around 12:40 a.m. after a fight between two groups escalated, according to police.

One of the six shooting victims, an unidentified woman, was in critical condition when police arrived. While she was taken to the hospital, she later succumbed to her injuries. A second victim in critical condition, a man, is also at a hospital.

The other victims, three men and women were in stable condition.

While five people were reported as shot initially, police were later informed of a sixth victim.

No suspects have been arrested in the case yet, as Lieutenant Shane Foley said in a statement that “It is not clear at this point if any of the people injured were also individuals who fired shots. That will be part of what detectives will attempt to determine.”

Per authorities, investigators are looking around for clues in nearby surveillance cameras as police say the gunfire spilled outside the restaurant. Authorities are also hoping to find witnesses who were in the restaurant at the time of the incident.

As Foley said, “Detectives are also working to review any video surveillance footage that may be available as the business did have surveillance cameras.”
