Vance DECLARES Harris Unfit Over False Claims

Republican vice presidential candidate Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) criticized Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday, arguing that she is unfit for office following her claim that no U.S. service members are currently in harm’s way.

During the Tuesday night debate, Harris stated that “there is not one” U.S. service member stationed in a combat or military zone globally.

Vance, appearing on Fox News’ “The Story with Martha MacCallum,” responded by asserting that the vice president seems unaware of the reality that American service members are indeed in dangerous situations around the world.

He further criticized her, stating that Harris has a “thin approach to public policy.”

“It’s astonishing for the vice president to say this,” Vance said. “Just a couple of weeks ago, you had American troops who were seriously injured, likely by Iranian-backed militias. The fact that she actually serves as the vice president and is apparently unaware that the people who serve underneath her are not only in harm’s way, they’re not only in a combat zone, they have been actually injured in the last couple of weeks. And again, it shows how thin and superficial Kamala Harris’ entire approach to public policy is. This is a person who doesn’t know what’s going on.”

On August 13, the Pentagon confirmed that Iran-backed militias were responsible for a drone attack in Syria that injured eight U.S. service members earlier that month, according to a Reuters report.

The affected troops were treated for traumatic brain injuries and smoke inhalation as a result of the attack, highlighting the ongoing dangers faced by U.S. military personnel stationed in conflict zones abroad.

“Whatever your disagreements about Kamala Harris’ policies, and believe me, I have many, I don’t want a vice president who doesn’t even know we have troops in harm’s way. That’s not a leader that’s fit to serve,” Vance continued.

Republican vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance criticized the Biden-Harris administration’s border policies, arguing that they have allowed dangerous foreigners to enter the U.S., thereby weakening both national security and the economy.

During the debate, Vice President Kamala Harris notably failed to mention the 13 U.S. service members killed in Kabul, Afghanistan, on August 26, 2021, during the chaotic withdrawal from the region.

This omission occurred in response to a question about the administration’s handling of the exit from Afghanistan. Additionally, President Joe Biden incorrectly stated during the June 27 debate that he was the first president in the past decade not to have American troops die overseas under his leadership, despite the tragic loss in Kabul.

“When he was president, there were still killing people in Afghanistan, and he didn’t do anything about that,” Biden said. “When he was president, we still found ourselves in a position where you had a notion that we were the safe country. The truth is, I’m the only president [in] this century, that doesn’t have any — this decade — that doesn’t have any troops dying anywhere in the world.”

Republican nominee Donald Trump marked the third anniversary of the deaths of 13 U.S. service members by attending a memorial at Arlington National Cemetery. This solemn occasion commemorated those who lost their lives during the 2021 Kabul airport attack.

Meanwhile, President Joe Biden was vacationing in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, and Vice President Kamala Harris did not attend any public events related to the anniversary of the service members’ deaths, drawing criticism from some quarters for the lack of public acknowledgment.
