Trump had initially made this pledge at a rally in Las Vegas, Nevada, on June 9âtwo months before Harris announced a similar position at her own Las Vegas rally on Saturday and six weeks before she stepped in for President Joe Biden in the 2024 race.

âKamala Harris, whose âHoneymoonâ period is ENDING, and is starting to get hammered in the Polls, just copied my NO TAXES ON TIPS Policy. The difference is, she wonât do it, she just wants it for Political Purposes! This was a TRUMP idea â She has no ideas, she can only steal from me. Remember, Kamala has proposed the LARGEST TAX INCREASE IN HISTORY â It wonât happen. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!â Trump posted.
When itâs a Trump idea the media laughs, bashes it, and attacks anyone who supports it.
When it comes from Camp Kamala, itâs the greatest thing since pockets!

Trump further criticized Harris for lacking originality, calling her a âcopycatâ for adopting his policy proposal. The former president insisted that Harris was promoting the policy for âpolitical purposesâ and had no intention of actually implementing it.
In another post, Trump questioned, âHow long will it be before Kamala Harris comes out with another âTRUMPâ policy like, âNo Taxes will be paid by our Senior Citizens on Social Security?â Sheâs looking really bad now! Everyone is waiting to see what idea, or policy of mine, she will copy next.â
Republican Senator J.D. Vance, the GOP vice-presidential nominee, also weighed in, questioning why Harris hasnât implemented the âno tax on tipsâ policy, given her current role as vice president.
âGiven that she runs the government, why doesnât she do it now?â Vance wrote on X.

In February 2023, the Biden-Harris administration introduced the Service Industry Tip Compliance Agreement (SITCA) proposal, an IRS initiative aimed at improving âtip reporting complianceâ on employment tax returns by cracking down on how tips are reported.
