Brazilian Singer Dies On Stage Due To Heart Attack

A gospel singer collapsed during a performance on stage on Wednesday. Pedro Henrique’s fall, which was captured on video, led to his death.

The incident happened while Henrique, 30, was performing at a private event in Brazil and interacting with the crowd. As seen in video clips of the event, he was singing his song “Vai Ser Tão Lindo” when he held his microphone in the air, a gesture performers use to urge the crowd to sing along.

As he brought the microphone back to his mouth to resume singing, he lost his balance, fell backward and slumped on his back.

As he fell, people rushed to his side and he was taken to a local medical clinic. However, he was pronounced dead, according to his record label, Todah Music.

The Brazilian singer’s cause of death was said to be a massive heart attack. He is survived by his wife, Suillan Barreto and their very young daughter Zoe. A photo posted to Henrique’s Instagram page indicates that Zoe will turn 2 month old on Dec. 19.

In a tribute posted to its Instagram page, the label wrote in Portuguese, “There are very difficult situations in life, for which we have no explanation. We just need to understand that the will of God prevails!”

Henrique is described as a “cheerful young man, a friend to all. The only son, a present husband and super-dedicated father.”

“There is no pastor or christian in Brazil who says anything different: – Peter is simple, he is a believer! What a smile ! How nice is that! What a voice! Our kind of people who are great to have around!” the label added.

The statement read further, “We believe Peter will have a prominent place in the great Heavenly Choir! Maybe singing ‘The Cross was for me’… or reminding us that God will honor our descendants!.. The Christian music segment is mourning. Todah music family is mourning. Heaven in choir receives an illustrious son: Pedro Henrique! See you soon dear brother!!! See you all soon! May the Holy Spirit comfort you all!”
