Trump Responds Defiantly To Second Assassination Attempt

Donald Trump sent a resolute message to his supporters on Sunday following a shooting that occurred at his golf club in Florida while he was in the vicinity.

“There were gunshots in my vicinity, but before rumors start spiraling out of control, I wanted you to hear this first: I AM SAFE AND WELL!” Trump said in a statement released by his campaign. Nothing will slow me down. I will NEVER SURRENDER! I will always love you for supporting me. Unity. Peace. Make America Great Again. I will always love you for supporting me.”

Officials reported that a gunman aimed a rifle through a fence at Trump’s golf club in West Palm Beach while the former president was golfing, leading Secret Service agents to return fire.

The assailant escaped, but the Martin County Sheriff’s Office managed to stop a vehicle and apprehend a suspect believed to be linked to the incident. Martin County is situated just north of Palm Beach County.

“The FBI has responded to West Palm Beach, Florida, and is investigating what appears to be an attempted assassination of former President Trump,” The FBI said in a statement.

“Investigating a protective incident involving former President Donald Trump that occurred shortly before 2 p.m,” Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said in a statement.

CNN’s Chief Law Enforcement and Intelligence Analyst, John Miller, reported that sources indicated law enforcement recovered a backpack and a semi-automatic rifle identified as an AK-47.

A GoPro camera was also discovered, implying that the individual might have intended to document the event from a first-person perspective, Miller noted. He emphasized that the details he provided were preliminary.

“President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have been briefed about the security incident at the Trump International Golf Course, where former President Trump was golfing,” the White House said in a statement. They are relieved to know that he is safe. They will be kept regularly updated by their team.”

In mid-July, Trump faced a terrifying attack when a shooter opened fire while he was addressing a crowd at an outdoor campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

The former president survived the incident due to a miracle move he claimed saved his life, although he was struck in his right ear by a bullet, and he raised his fist in a display of resilience. Tragically, one rally attendee, 50-year-old fireman Corey Comperatore, lost his life, and two others were injured.
