AOC Says Trump Can’t Beat Biden In General Election

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has said that former President Donald Trump is not likely to beat President Joe Biden in the general election. According to her, the GOP presidential candidate’s votes in the first two Republican primaries held over the past two weeks, showed that he is not a strong enough competition for Biden.

Ocasio-Cortez said this on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday when anchor Kristen Walker asked her about Biden’s reelection campaign.

“As you know, in the key battleground states, he has real vulnerabilities, and why do you think he is struggling against Donald Trump, someone who has been indicted four times and has slapped with this $83 million civil suit?” Welker asked.

In response, Ocasio-Cortez stated, “I think we can take a look at the overall landscape here. It’s not just what we are talking about with President Biden, but also former President Trump has extraordinary vulnerabilities. We saw that in New Hampshire. The fact that he is a former sitting president, head of his party and virtually everyone else has dropped out and endorsed him, and as we just saw, Nikki Haley came and she cleared out 43% in New Hampshire bodes very not well for Donald Trump and his ability to win a general election.”

She then pivoted to Biden, pointing out that young people make up “a very strong part” of his electorate.

“We have a diverse coalition in the Democratic Party that has its own concerns, whether it is what’s happening in Gaza or any other number of issues, but right now, I think November will be about the coalition we can put together and the policy progress we can make between now and then,” she added.

Later in the interview, she was asked if she thought Biden is the strongest party in the Democratic Party to face Trump in the general election.

“Yes.. especially when you look at this field. We have Dean Philips and Marianne Williamson, President Biden, I think without question, among that field, he’s the strongest nominee,” she said.

Ocasio-Cortez comes about a week after she claimed a lot of people love Trump because he affirms their views on masculinity and race.

“Donald Trump is what you actually get when you want a politician to embody all of your hopes and dreams and caricature of yourselves. Donald Trump affirms insecure men’s idea of masculinity. They affirm insecure people’s idea of wealth,” she stated, adding that the GOP frontrunner affirms “insecure White folks’ idea of race.”
