Donald Trump Jr. Defends Father, Blasts ‘Witch Hunt’ Trial

Former President Donald Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., spoke against the criminal trial his father is facing in New York on Tuesday. Speaking to reporters near the courthouse, Trump Jr. addressed an event held by President Joe Biden’s campaign outside the courthouse that day where actor Robert De Niro warned against Trump’s reelection.

Slamming the Biden campaign circus, Trump Jr. said, “The fact that they’re holding a rally across the street from this very witch hunt, right across the street, tells us exactly what we all knew all along, that it is a political persecution. It is a witch hunt.”

“There is a reason one of the people sitting at that desk was the number three person in Joe Biden’s DOJ. I know my father is not allowed to say ‘Matthew Colangelo’ is his name, because he’s been gagged. The President of the United States is not allowed to exercise his First Amendment rights in New York City in this day and age,” he added.

After his speech before reporters, Trump Jr. continued his verbal attack on the Biden campaign on X.

“If there was ever any doubt that this was a political persecution, the fact that the Biden campaign would hold a rally outside of the courthouse during closing arguments tells you everything you needed to know,” he tweeted, adding, “Election interference!!!”

Trump Jr. also made a post slamming De Niro, noting that Biden has him in a mask.

“It’s pathetic that DeNiro is the best celebrity that Biden can get as a surrogate. In 2020, every celebrity lined up behind him but in 2024, The Rock, Cardi b, & other major celebrities have turned on him & said they regret voting for him!” he wrote.

During the Biden campaign event, De Niro claimed that Trump’s reelection would cause the world as it exists to cease to exist.

“Under Trump, this kind of government will perish from the Earth. I don’t mean to scare you. No, no, wait, maybe I do mean to scare you. If Trump returns to the White House, you can kiss these freedoms goodbye that we all take for granted. And elections? Forget about them. That’s over, that’s done. If he gets in, I can tell you right now, he will never leave. He will never leave. You know that. He will never leave,” De Niro stated.
