AOC Gets Booed In Town Hall For Prioritizing Illegal Immigrants

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) hosted a town hall on Thursday to lay out the benefits of the Green New Deal. But things changed quickly when some attendees got angry and were very expressive about it.

Two attendees had cut her speech off to accuse her of caring more about illegal immigrants than her constituents whom she was elected to represent.

One of the angry attendees, Jonathan David Rinaldi stated, “My name is Jonathan David Rinaldi and I’m running for Congress against AOC, the Green New Deal is a scam.”

“They’re giving the NYCHA apartments away, they’re giving illegal aliens $10,000 a day… I want you to debate me AOC, debate me,” Rinaldi added before security intervened to boot him out of the hall.

He later shared his concerns with Fox News, saying that the city’s public housing projects, which are overseen by NYCHA, the New York City Housing Authority, are being issued to illegal immigrants at the expense of citizens.

As Rinaldi was carted away, another man joined him in his protest, shouting, “Secure the border now.”

“You haven’t said one word about violent Venezuelan migrants, illegals. You don’t care, all you care about is illegal aliens and their votes. You don’t care about your constituents. That’s all you care about, you’re a disgrace,” the man said while waving his finger at the Democrat lawmaker.

As the man continued to rant, some of Ocasio-Cortez’s supporters began clapping their hands and shouting “AOC, AOC.”

Rinaldi, on his end, tried to get in more words as the security personnel led him out of the venue.

“Every single one of us is being sold out by people that have brought illegals here to vote…You only represent the illegal aliens,” he shouted.

At this point, Ocasio-Cortez clapped back, saying, “Well clearly I don’t, because I’m an elected member of Congress, so keep it pushing bro.”

After the two men were sent out of the venue, Ocasio-Cortez spoke about her stance on immigration, saying, “Clearly, this community — Astoria, Jackson Heights, also across the Bronx – clearly supports progressive immigration policies that welcomes all of our neighbors.”

“We clearly support a path to citizenship, we clearly support ending draconian immigration policies and that is why you all… support my representation of our community in Congress because we have had enough,” she said further as the attendees clapped for her. A woman also said, “Thank you.”

“We have seen the voices that are anti-immigrant in this country are very very loud but they are very very few and we have to look around and realize how many of us are here in support of our neighbors and an acknowledgment of the fact that virtually all of us are descendants of immigrants, or indigenous people, or enslaved people,” she added even though the two demonstrators were taking issue with illegal immigration not all immigration.
