Elon Musk Got AOC Defending Her Intelligence And Record

In a heated exchange on social media, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) took on billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk for questioning her intelligence after she suggested that New York City’s migrant crisis is “nothing” compared to the influx of immigrants through Ellis Island over a century ago.

The clash began when Ocasio-Cortez poked fun at House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), using a meme about “girl math” to criticize his leadership.

The congresswoman quipped, “Boy math is needing 15 attempts to count the votes correctly to become Speaker and then shutting down the government 9 months later.”

The jab caught the attention of conservative influencer Ashley St. Clair, who promptly shared a recent video clip of AOC in which she said, “The numbers — when it comes to people coming to New York City today — are nothing, I’m telling you, nothing, compared to the daily amounts of people that we saw coming in through Ellis Island in the first half of [last] century.”

In St. Clair’s tweet, she argued that Ocasio-Cortez’s comparison of legal immigrants from the past to the current migrant crisis was flawed. “Girl math is saying immigrants coming legally through Ellis Island is the same as 3 million undocumented migrants pouring through our border and costing NYC $1,000,000,000 to house migrants for free in hotels,” she wrote.

Musk joined the conversation at this point, chiming in with a simple, “She’s just not that smart.”

This comment triggered Ocasio-Cortez, and she chose to respond with a list of her accomplishments and a sassy farewell to Musk.

“I wasn’t born rich and became the youngest woman in American history to be elected to Congress. Then I investigated Cohen, authored the largest FEMA funeral assistance program in history, and led the creation of a US Climate Corps to create tens of thousands of new jobs. Stay mad,” she retorted.

However, her response was not the solid clapback she thought it was, as she faced even more backlash from conservatives on the platform, including actor Dean Cain, who suggested that the response didn’t address Musk’s claim.

Musk simply responded, writing, “I take it back – you’re obviously a genius.”

Conservative influencer Harrison Krank also took a swipe at Ocasio-Cortez’s accomplishments, referencing Nancy Pelosi’s comment that “a glass of water with a (D) next to it” could have been elected in the Democrat rep’s district.

St. Clair reentered the conversation, urging Ocasio-Cortez to shed what she perceived as an inauthentic identity. “You grew up in the wealthy suburbs of Westchester County. Drop the Bronx shtick at the very least, girly pop,” she tweeted.

Contributing editor for The American Conservative magazine, Chris Burnet, weighed in by pointing out the congresswoman’s failure to address the issue of illegal immigration. “Okay but what about the illegal immigrants? You totally ignored that point. Because it’s indefensible,” he stated.

Another commenter poked holes in the congresswoman’s claims, stating, “You didn’t investigate Cohen, you along with several other people asked a few questions of him in a hearing. You didn’t Author the FEMA bill, you were one of the proponents of the bill but it was authored by core players in your party like Barbara Lee and Chuck Schumer.”

“Finally the climate corps idea you introduced in your Green New Deal is a far cry from the actual climate corps that was created. Furthermore, you had no role in the creation of it when Biden put it into motion in Sept of 2021,” he added.
