Trump Calls Democrats ‘Radicals’ On Abortion

Former President Donald Trump is throwing back Democrats’ accusations back at them and calling them the “radicals.”

In order to draw his point home, Trump posted a video of former Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam saying that there is no need to resuscitate a child born alive in a late-term abortion if the mother does not want it.

“If a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen: The infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated, if that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother,” Northam said.

In his post to Truth Social, Trump criticized Northam’s claims on abortion, saying, When asked about Third Trimester Abortions, and a Bill that would permit Abortion AS A WOMAN WAS GIVING BIRTH, Former Governor of Virginia Ralph Northam stated, “If a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen. The infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated IF that’s what the mother and the family desired. AND THEN A DISCUSSION WOULD ENSUE between the physicians and the mother.”

“In other words, the Baby would be executed after birth! ALWAYS REMEMBER – THE DEMOCRATS ARE THE RADICALS ON ABORTION,” he added.

Trump’s post comes after he released his official stance on abortion and whether there should be a national ban on it.

In a post on Monday which has drawn strong reaction from both sides of the political aisle, Trump said, “My view is now that we have abortion where everybody wanted it from a legal standpoint, the states will determine by vote or legislation, or perhaps both, and whatever they decide, must be the law of the land.”

“This is all about the will of the people. You must follow your heart or in many cases, your religion or your faith. Do what’s right for your family, and do what’s right for yourself,” he added.

Amid the criticism the GOP presumptive nominee has received from some within his party who believe his position is too weak to protect life, he made a followup post explaining his stance.

According to him, leaving the decision to the states is the best course of action for Republicans as Democrats will never be satisfied with the pro-life movement and insisting on it would only damage Republicans in the elections.

“…Democrats would never give up on this Issue no matter how many weeks the Republicans went – even if they went, ‘Unlimited Abortion!’ We had a Great Victory, it’s back in the States where it belongs, and where everyone wanted it. The States will be making the decision. Republicans are now free to run for Office based on the Horrible Border, Inflation, Bad Economy, and the Death & Destruction of our Country!” he said.

In another post addressing Sen. Lindsey Graham’s criticism of his position, the former president wrote, “Terminating Roe v. Wade was, according to all Legal Scholars, a Great Event, but sometimes with Great Events come difficulties. Many Good Republicans lost Elections because of this Issue, and people like Lindsey Graham, that are unrelenting, are handing Democrats their dream of the House, Senate, and perhaps even the Presidency…”
