AOC Says Fellow Dem Is Confused About Racism And Misogyny

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) was not having it when Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) made fun at a House committee markup that spiraled out of control and quickly became a war of words between Ocasio-Cortez, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX).

Fetterman referred to the display as “The Jerry Springer Show,” a reality program “loaded with bleeped profanity and guests who aren’t afraid to embarrass themselves on national TV,” according to its description on Apple TV.

In a post to X, Fetterman wrote, “In the past, I’ve described the U.S. House as The Jerry Springer Show. Today, I’m apologizing to The Jerry Springer Show.”

Ocasio-Cortez did not like Fetterman’s comment, as she quoted him, saying, I understand you likely would not have stood up for your colleague and seem to be confused about racism and misogyny being a “both sides” issue.”

“But I stand up to bullies, instead of becoming one. And to the women of Pennsylvania: I’d stand up for you too. Enjoy your Friday,” she added.

Fetterman’s office addressed Ocasio-Cortez’s post in a statement to Fox News, where they said, “John responded to an absurd screaming match of personal attacks in an unhinged House committee hearing.”

During a House Oversight markup on Tuesday, Crockett challenged Greene over a question she asked, Asking her “Do you know what we’re here for?”

Greene retorted, “I think your fake eyelashes are messing up what you’re reading.”

Ocasio-Cortez then called for a point of order, asking a remark Greene made about her lack of intelligence to be taken down as well as her comments about Crockett’s eyelashes, which she believes is “absolutely unacceptable.”

“How dare you attack the physical appearance of another person!” Ocasio-Cortez condemned the Georgia lawmaker, who asked her, “Are your feelings hurt?”

“Move her words down!” Ocasio-Cortez interjected while Greene said, “Aww.”

Ocasio-Cortez replied, “Oh! Girl, baby, girl!”

“Oh, really?” Greene said.

“Don’t even play!” Ocasio-Cortez retorted, prompting Greene to say, “Baby, girl? I don’t think so.”
