Biden Hoping Executive Order On Border Would Happen Itself
President Joe Biden is still not looking at taking proactive steps to curb the illegal immigrant crisis at the U.S. border with Mexico. Speaking to reporters during a visit to New Hampshire this week, he said that he wants executive action on the border to happen “by itself.”
Seeking to get confirmation on reports that Biden was considering using executive action to fix the crisis at the border, a reporter asked, “Mr. President, when is a border executive action coming? Mr. President, when is a border executive action coming? An executive action on the border.”
In response, Biden said, “I’m counting on the border action happening by itself — the passing it.”

Biden’s remarks follow reports that he was looking at executive action to restrict migrants’ ability to seek asylum at the border.
The White House has, however, stuck to blaming Republicans for not passing a proposed bipartisan deal to secure the border.
When asked about the executive action Biden was reportedly considering, White House spokesperson failed to comment on it, choosing instead to pivot to suggesting that Republicans are the ones stopping a solution to the problem Biden created in the first place by reversing the working policies of the Trump administration.
“The Administration spent months negotiating in good faith to deliver the toughest and fairest bipartisan border security bill in decades because we need Congress to make significant policy reforms and to provide additional funding to secure our border and fix our broken immigration system,” he said in a statement to CNN.
“No executive action, no matter how aggressive, can deliver the significant policy reforms and additional resources Congress can provide and that Republicans rejected. We continue to call on Speaker Johnson and House Republicans to pass the bipartisan deal to secure the border,” he added.
