Biden Says He Recently Met Dead French President
President Joe Biden shocked many on Sunday when he said that he recently met with former French President Francois Mitterrand, who has been dead for about 30 years.
Biden said this to a crowd in Las Vegas while he was warning them of the dangers of Trump winning the election in November and claiming the White House again.
According to him, he had a meeting with Macros in England months after he was sworn into office.
He stated, “Right after I was elected I went to a G7 meeting. I sat down and said, ‘America is back!’ and Mitterand from Germany — I mean France, looked at me and said…”
He then seemingly trailed off before continuing, saying, “How long are you back for?”

The president went further to say that the “Chancellor of Germany” asked him about the U.S. response to the storming of Britain’s House of Commons by people trying to stop the election of a Prime Minister and who kill two “bobbies” or British police officers in the process. He was referring to the Capitol Hill riot on Jan. 6, 2021.
“I never thought about it from that perspective. What would we say if that happened in another democracy around the world?” Biden added.
Mitterand, however, could not have had a meeting with Biden, as the former president whose tenure was between 1981 and 1995, died in 1996.
The White House admitted Biden’s mistake in the official transcript of the speech, noting that he was supposed to mention current French President Emmanuel Macron, who has held office since 2017.
But no explanation could help the president escape mockery for his latest gaffe. Reacting to a video of the speech shared on social media, conservative podcaster Graham Allen stated, “This is not a healthy sign.”
This is not a healthy sign:
Joe Biden said that he recently met with “Mitterand from Germany.”
Mitterand was the FRENCH President between 1981 and 1995 and died in 1996.

“Either he’s conducting seances with the dead or his senile dementia is getting worse. Although Hillary said she ‘Communes’ with the Spirit of Eleanor Roosevelt so maybe it’s a Democrat sponsored seance?” another user named John Dueker tweeted.

Another account weighed in with another perspective, writing, “I hate saying he’s too old, because I’ve known people who remained very sharp when older than Biden is now. But these sorts of comments—and let’s face it, these are not isolated incidents—would have the media speculating endlessly about the 25th amendment if he was a Republican.”
