Rep Warns Democrats Could Take Control Of House

Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY) is afraid that the U.S. House of Representatives might end up in the hands of Democrats in 2024.

During a New Year Special on SiriusXM Patriot 125 during the weekend, she raised the possibility that Democrats might secure control of the House without needing any election process.

Speaking about the state-level battles over redistricting in New York when Democrats changed their minds after supporting an independent commission.

“We’re going to see redistricting all over again. You’re going to see a blunt-force power grab by the Democrats to take back the House of Representatives, using their redistricting powers in New York, against the will of the people in New York State who have asked for non-gerrymandered lines,” Tenney said.

She then brought forth what she called a “very real possibility” that Democrats would retake the speakership position before the election in November. This, she said, might be the fallout of the retirements the Republican Party has seen in recent months.

Tenney also emphasized the importance of Republicans keeping control of the House. According to her, Republicans being in charge of the House would make it possible to rein in the Democratic Party’s “authoritarianism, spending, [and] bad policies.”

During the interview, Tenney also voiced confidence in Trump’s prospects of winning the presidential election in November even amid efforts by President Joe Biden and Democrats to ensure he doesn’t.

Tenney has been a vocal supporter of Trump, as she has supported him amid his indictment. In June, after the news of the GOP frontrunner’s indictment came out in relation to his classified documents case, she condemned the indictment.

“Never in American history has the Attorney General indicted a former President and current candidate for President,” she wrote, adding, “This political decision comes just as House Republicans are revealing a $5 million bribery scheme between Biden and a foreign government.”

In a follow-up post, she wrote, “It is a dark day for the rule of law in America.”
