Trump Unveils Signature Shoes At Sneaker Convention
Former President Donald Trump made a surprise appearance at Sneaker Con over the weekend before he headed to Michigan for a campaign rally. During the event, which is known as “The Greatest Sneaker Show On Earth,” the GOP presidential candidate presented his custom Trump-branded sneakers, which are being sold for $399 a pair.
As a portion of the crowd cheered for him while the other booed him, he said, “A lot of emotion. There’s a lot of emotion in this room… I just want to tell you, you know, I’ve wanted to do this for a long time. I have some incredible people that work with me on things and they came up with this. This is something I’ve been talking about for 12 years, 13 years and I think it’s going to be a big success.”
He went on to note that “influencers” have been “very positive” about the new gold-colored shoes, which are created by CIC Ventures and are available for pre-order in limited quantities.
“This is something I’ve been talking about for 12 years, 13 years and I think it’s going to be a big success. That’s the real deal,” he said, flashing the shoes to the audience.
Trump also took the time to encourage the audience to go out to vote when it’s time. “We have to go out and we got to get young people out to vote. And you’re going to vote, and we’re going to turn this thing around. This country’s not doing so well,” he said.
“We’re going to turn this country around fast. And we’re going to remember the young people, and we’re going to remember Sneaker Con,” he added.
At some point during his address, the GOP front runner brought forward a woman, who had good words for him.
“Yes, we need him. He’s a Christian, he’s a good honest man. They’re after him for no reason. Go out and vote for Trump. Vote Trump…He’s a good man. Look at his family, they’re all good kids, all good kids,” she emotionally said, leading some of the audience to break into chants of “USA, USA, USA.”

After Trump’s appearance at the event, those on the left and anti-Trumps criticized the organizers of the event for giving Trump a platform to speak. Sneaker Con, however, appeared to stand on its decision in a statement organizers released, which read, “Sneaker Con’s mission is to support and promote sneaker culture through our worldwide live events and digital platforms. We are thankful and appreciative of the sneaker community, and recognize individuals who generate awareness and authentic sneaker related engagement towards our community. #sneakercon.”
