Nikki Haley Questions Trump’s Mental Fitness

Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley took a swipe at former President Donald Trump on Saturday. But this time, it was not about his political record or policies. The GOP presidential candidate took issue with Trump’s mental capacity, as she pointed out how he confused her with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).

During a rally in New Hampshire, Haley questioned attendees’ willingness to “go into an election” with Trump and President Joe Biden as the options.

“I’m not saying anything derogatory, but when you’re dealing with the pressures of a presidency, we can’t have someone else that we question whether they’re mentally fit to do this,” she said.

“We see that Biden has changed so much over two years. But last night, Trump is at a rally and he’s going on and on mentioning me multiple times as to why I didn’t take security during the capitol riot, why I didn’t handle Jan. 6 better,” she added, explaining that she was not even in D.C. on the day of the Capitol protests on Jan. 6, 2021.

Trump, during a campaign event on Friday had said, “You know, Nikki Haley, Nikki Haley, Nikki Haley, you know they — do you know they destroyed all of the information and all of the evidence? Everything. Deleted and destroyed all of it. All of it because of, lots of things. Like, Nikki Haley is in charge of security. We offered her 10,000 people.”

During an appearance on Sunday’s Face the Nation, Haley escalated her attacks, saying, “[Trump] claimed that Joe Biden was going to get us into World War II. I’m assuming he meant World War III. He said that he ran against President Obama. He never ran against President Obama. He says that I’m the one that kept security from the Capitol on Jan. 6. I was nowhere near the Capitol on Jan. 6.”

Haley’s swipes at Trump comes as the two ramp up attacks against each other on the campaign trail with the New Hampshire primary just a couple of days away.

Trump in return came for Haley’s alliances, calling them “unholy.”

“Here in New Hampshire, Nikki Haley has made an unholy alliance with RINOs, Never Trumpers, Americans for No Prosperity,” he said, taking a jab at Americans for Prosperity, a conservative organization that endorsed Haley last month.

“Did you ever hear of Americans for No Prosperity? I added the word ‘no’ because that’s essentially what they do. I was gonna say Americans for China Prosperity… They’re headed up by bad people — globalists, radical left communists — to get liberals and Biden supporters to vote for her,” he added.
