Noem Says She’ll Do What She Can To Help Trump

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem is certain that former President Donald Trump is “the only person who can right the ship.” She said this to Fox News Digital a day before campaigning in Iowa on behalf of Trump.

When asked if she has plans to go back to Iowa before the caucuses to campaign again for Trump, she said she might not be able to due to her day job. However, she did say that Iowa is “not too far away, so it’s not so hard for me to run down there and do something if I’m helpful.”

Noem, who endorsed Trump in September, is willing to back Trump till he secures the presidency again. Revealing that she spoke with him on the phone on the evening of New Year’s Day, she said, “I’ll do whatever I can that helps to get him across the finish line. I do believe it’s that important.”

Asked about serving as Trump’s VP, she said that she and the GOP frontrunner didn’t talk about that in their last conversation. She, however, emphasized her support for him, “He knows he has my support. I know I have his. We work really well together. We’re friends. We’ll talk about that when it’s time to make a decision on that.”

Saying that anyone who gets offered to be Trump’s VP pick should consider accepting the position, she said that she would consider it if offered.

Speculations come up about the possibility of Noem serving as Trump’s running mate after she endorsed the former president at a campaign rally in early September.

“He is the leader, the fighter that our country needs. I will do everything I can to help him win and save this country,” she said at the time before a crowd of MAGA supporters holding a sign that read, “Trump Noem 2024.”

Trump had reacted to the endorsement with joy, calling the governor “one of the most successful governors in the entire nation.”

“Kristi, I’m truly honored to receive your endorsement,” he said.

“I get endorsements, some don’t mean anything. Hers means a lot.,” he added.

During the endorsement speech, Noem spoke about her work history with Trump during 2020’s COVID-19 pandemic.

“He let me do my job. When the rest of the country was locking down and ordering people to stay home, we did the exact opposite,” she said.

In response to that, Trump also said, “Unlike other governors, she never locked down South Dakota. You know they all say ‘I kept it open, I kept it open’ — they didn’t keep it open.”
